Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and specialty beverages with precision and flair.
- Handle food preparation tasks including assembling sandwiches, pastries, and other café offerings while maintaining food safety standards.
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS efficiently for transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing.
- Manage cash register operations accurately, ensuring proper cash handling and balancing at shift end.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests warmly, taking orders promptly, and answering questions about menu items.
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including counters, equipment, and seating areas, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Assist in inventory management by restocking supplies and monitoring product freshness.
- Support sales initiatives by promoting menu items and upselling when appropriate to enhance guest experience.
- Follow all food industry standards for serving food safely and handling food products responsibly.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure timely service without compromising quality.
- Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment focused on teamwork and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Previous barista experience or strong familiarity with coffee preparation techniques is preferred.
- Experience working with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude that engages guests positively.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and transaction balancing.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks during peak hours.
- Experience in food service or café environments is a plus but not required; enthusiasm to learn is essential.
