Mechanical Application Engineer

FRD Corp. is seeking a technically skilled and customer-focused Mechanical Field Application Engineer to support OEM clients and drive product integration across next-generation and cost-optimized programs. This role bridges mechanical design expertise with hands-on customer engagement, supporting both prototyping and production phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with OEM engineers and Sales Managers to implement FRD solutions for existing, next-gen, and cost-reduction programs
- Apply FRD materials and components to solve customer challenges through detailed, application-specific design proposals
- Present design solutions using modeling and simulation tools to communicate performance and feasibility
- Lead customer interactions from prototype development through initial production builds, ensuring alignment with stakeholder timelines. Need to support at customer lab onsite maintenance
- Coordinate internal cross-functional activities to meet product development milestones and customer requirements
Required Skills & Experience
- Proficiency in solid-modeling software such as SolidWorks, Pro/E. Or thermal/mechanical simulation tools like Abaqus, HFSS, Icepak, or COMSOL
- Strong understanding of cross-functional collaboration across engineering, sales, and operations teams
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage audiences in person and remotely
- Hands-on experience in mechanical design and thermal management, including components such as heatsinks, heat pipes, vapor chambers, TIMs, graphite, plastic molding, sheet metal, EMI shielding, and aluminum die casting
- 1-2 years of experience in component-level or subsystem-level design.
- Proven ability to engage customers proactively, organize intercompany meetings, and maintain relationships across technical and commercial functions
- Business development experience is highly desirable.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
· Mandarin fluency preferred due to frequent communication with factory teams in China and Taiwan

Pay: $65,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
