Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks tailored to children's dietary requirements, including special diets or allergies.
- Plan weekly menus that incorporate balanced nutrition, variety, and appealing presentation.
- Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, mixing, portioning, and plating with precision and care.
- Maintain strict food safety standards by adhering to proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.
- Assist with grocery shopping and inventory management to ensure all ingredients are fresh and available.
- Collaborate with childcare staff to coordinate meal times and ensure smooth service during busy hours.
- Keep the kitchen area clean, organized, and compliant with health regulations at all times.
- Open the center daily
Skills
- Proven experience in dietary department or dietary aide roles, preferably within childcare or similar settings.
- Culinary experience including food handling, cooking techniques, knife skills, and food safety practices.
- Familiarity with food industry standards related to catering, food service, and restaurant operations.
- Excellent food preparation skills with the ability to create appealing meals that encourage healthy eating habits.
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
