Job Summary
JPI Electric of Texas LLC is looking for a Residential Electrician Supervisor in our Austin market who leads a team of electricians and apprentices working on residential properties. This role is responsible for coordinating daily operations, inspecting electrical systems, ensuring compliance with codes, and maintaining high safety and quality standards.
1. Team Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise and mentor electricians and apprentices
- Assign daily tasks and manage work schedules
- Provide on-the-job training and performance feedback
- Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and materials
2. Project Oversight
- Plan and coordinate residential electrical projects
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
- Monitor progress to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
3. Installation & Maintenance
- Oversee installation of wiring, outlets, panels, lighting, and appliances
- Ensure proper troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems
- Verify all work meets residential building standards
4. Code Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes (such as the National Electrical Code – NEC)
- Conduct safety inspections and enforce OSHA safety regulations
- Identify and mitigate potential hazards
5. Quality Control
- Inspect completed work for accuracy and workmanship
- Approve final installations before inspections
- Address and resolve any deficiencies
6. Communication & Coordination
- Liaise with contractors, builders, inspectors, and homeowners
- Provide updates on project status and issues
- Assist in estimating labor and material costs
- Journeyman license (minimum)
- 5–10 years of residential electrical experience
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and safety procedures
