Overview:
The Philadelphia office of Kaufman Dolowich, recognized by U.S News, as one of the “Best Companies to Work For – Law Firms," is seeking a Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team. The Legal Assistant/Paralegal will work directly with our attorneys to prepare for upcoming cases and get involved in fact-finding projects. This individual will proactively manage attorney caseloads by being organized, professional, responsible, and committed to helping the Firm meet all clients’ needs.
Job Duties:

Collaborate with attorneys to prepare for trials, hearings, and meetings

Utilizes existing files and a variety of other research resources to develop information for pending cases

Drafts discovery demands and responses, including, but not limited to, Requests for Production, Interrogatories, Notices for Discovery and Inspection and Requests for Admissions

Processes deposition transcripts

Prepares trial and arbitration hearing binders

Assists with drafting documents such as: Motion to Strike, Motion for Continuances, Proposed Orders, Requests for Judicial Notice, Evidentiary Objections, etc

Assists with e-filing in State, Federal and Appellate Courts and checks the Court’s local rules

Prepares timelines and demonstrative exhibits

Drafts routine legal correspondence

Prepares first set of exhibits for motions, discovery responses, etc

Reviews outgoing document production, including redacting and Bates stamping
-
Creates Preservation of Evidence Letter and Document Request Letters

Performs legal research through WestLaw
-
Assisting with office administration tasks

Reviews, summarize and analyze medical records to assist with defense of action

Other duties, as needed, to support the firm and office operations
Qualifications:

Previous law firm experience (4+ years)

Litigation experience

Ability to multitask and prioritize workload

Proficient in Microsoft Office programs

Knowledge of legal terminology and principles

Ability to analyze legal documents and ensure accuracy
