Calling all CNC Programmers with CAD/CAM hyperMILL experience!
We have partnered with a precision manufacturing company in greater Hartford specializing in machined components for the aerospace industry. Our client is local to greater Hartford, family-owned, and has been an industry leader in the space for over 40 years.
They are actively searching for their next full-time CNC Programmer. This role is ideal for someone who thrives as a problem solver in a hands-on, fast spaced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Engineering: Analyze customer engineering drawings, specifications, and machine capabilities to design and implement optimal manufacturing processes, workflows, and tooling requirements
- CAD/CAM Modeling & CNC Programming: Utilize SolidWorks and CAM software to develop 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC programs, applying GD&T to machine various aerospace-grade materials.
- Setup & Production Control: Perform first-article machine setups, troubleshoot dimensional or surface finish issues, and manage workholding, tool life, and offset adjustments.
- Continuous Improvement: Conduct root cause analysis on production problems and implement process improvements to reduce cycle times, scrap, and setup costs.
- Production Support & Mentorship: Estimate machining costs for production planning, maintain comprehensive setup documentation, and train machine operators on safe, correct program execution.
Key Qualifications:
- Education & Experience: Engineering degree or 3+ years of CNC programming and production engineering experience within an aerospace or precision machining environment.
- HyperMILL & CAM Expertise: Mandatory expertise in hyperMILL CAD/CAM software, complemented by proficiency in SolidWorks, Mastercam, or similar design packages.
- Multi-Axis CNC Programming: Proven experience programming multi-axis mills and CNC lathes, with mandatory, advanced 5-axis machining center capabilities.
- G-Code & Technical Aptitude: Strong understanding of G-code programming with the ability to hand-edit code directly at the machine control.
- Blueprints & GD&T Compliance: Advanced proficiency reading engineering drawings and customer specifications.
- Industry Standards & Materials: Solid knowledge of machining aerospace-grade materials.
**Salary will be $40-60/hr based on experience, alongside a full benefits package, overtime opportunities and room for growth as the company expands.
