We are seeking a dedicated and energetic EDEP (Extended Day Enrichment Program) Counselor"s to join our afterschool team. Responsibilities
- Supervise children during afterschool hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Facilitate engaging youth group activities, including arts, sports, outdoor games, and educational projects
- Manage classroom behavior using positive discipline techniques and behavior management strategies
- Implement age-appropriate enrichment activities that promote childhood development and social skills
- Maintain clear communication with parents, staff, and program coordinators regarding children's progress and needs
- Follow first aid protocols promptly in case of injuries or emergencies, including administering CPR or using AED equipment when necessary
- Support children with special education needs by adapting activities and providing individualized attention as required
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
- Certification in first aid, CPR, and AED operation; additional certifications in child development or special education are a plus
- Experience facilitating youth group activities or leading outdoor work experiences
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Background in childhood development, teaching young children, or related fields such as theater or babysitting is highly desirable
Proven track record of fostering positive relationships with children and supporting their emotional and social growth
Pay: $15.00 per hour
