As a Cybersecurity Analyst at G2, you will play a key role in strengthening the security and resilience of critical systems that enable Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) capabilities. In this position, you will apply cybersecurity and engineering expertise to analyze risks, evaluate system vulnerabilities, and support the development of defensive measures against emerging cyber threats. You will collaborate closely with the Cybersecurity Team Lead and technical stakeholders to ensure that mission-essential networking and communication systems remain robust, secure, and operational.
Responsibilities:
- Perform Cyber Resiliency analysis on candidate waveforms hosted on tactical Software Defined Radios (SDRs), ensuring that the security requirements of communications systems are met.
- Assist in the review of individual focus area (security, protection, resiliency) waveform analyses inputs.
- Research the latest methodologies and maintain processes for SDR Waveform Cyber Resiliency analysis.
- Provide support for system security engineering, which requires a foundational understanding of cybersecurity, electronic protection, and technology protection.
- Support the implementation and documentation of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process for tactical radio overlays.
- Participate in team meetings, technical reviews, and stakeholder engagements to provide cybersecurity insights.
- Maintain technical relationships with external vendors and DoD organizations involved in tactical SDR waveforms.
- Assist in the development and review of technical white papers, presentations, and reports supporting Cyber Resiliency tasks.
- Contribute to weekly status reports and provide updates on assigned tasks to team leadership.
- Support the review and update of Security Team standard operating procedure (SOP) documents as required.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Cybersecurity, Applied Science, Computing, or another related technical discipline.
- 1-3 years of experience in cybersecurity, information assurance, or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Security Classification Guides (SCG).
- Knowledge of Software Defined Radios (SDRs), waveforms, and Radio Frequency (RF) communications concepts.
- Knowledge of DoD acquisition life cycle management policies and practices is a plus.
- Experience with National Security Systems (NSS) requirements, including basic COMSEC/TRANSEC and cryptographic protection.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and in writing.
- Ability to manage and process multiple tasks concurrently and work with other team members to accomplish complex tasks.
- Active Top-Secret clearance, with the ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance.
Desired Qualifications:
- 4-5 years of experience in cybersecurity, information assurance, or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of Technology Protection policies and safeguarding of critical program information.
- Familiarity with Cyber Electromagnetic Activities (CEMA) guidance and related assessment or testing activities.
- Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or Federal Government customers.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to navigate each department at G2 and at the assigned client facilities.
Location:
This is a full-time, on-site position based in San Diego, CA, where you’ll work side by side with the team and our clients to achieve mission success. Being on-site allows us to deliver the hands-on support our clients rely on, fostering collaboration, innovation, and real-time problem-solving. Travel at least 25%.
Compensation and Benefits:
The compensation range for this position in California is $100,000/year to $130,000/year, depending on your expertise, and market location conditions.
