Position Summary
The Bartender is responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience through knowledgeable beverage service, genuine hospitality, and consistent execution. As an ambassador of Dear Dad, the Bartender prepares handcrafted cocktails, recommends wines and spirits, and creates memorable interactions that elevate every guest's dining experience.
This role requires professionalism, attention to detail, and a passion for hospitality while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, efficiency, and beverage quality.

Essential Responsibilities
Guest Experience
- Deliver warm, attentive, and personalized service to every guest.
- Build genuine relationships with guests while creating an inviting bar atmosphere.
- Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly and professionally.
- Confidently guide guests through cocktail, wine, beer, and spirit selections.
- Recommend food and beverage pairings to enhance the dining experience.
- Resolve guest concerns professionally and communicate opportunities to leadership when appropriate.
Beverage Service
- Prepare cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages according to company recipes and service standards.
- Maintain consistency in presentation, portioning, and quality.
- Execute beverage tickets efficiently while balancing bar guests and service bar responsibilities.
- Verify guest identification and ensure responsible alcohol service at all times.
- Maintain extensive knowledge of the beverage menu and seasonal offerings.
Bar Operations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked workstation throughout each shift.
- Complete opening, running, and closing side work according to established procedures.
- Restock liquor, beer, wine, garnishes, glassware, and supplies as needed.
- Follow sanitation, safety, and health department standards.
- Communicate inventory needs or product shortages to the Bar Supervisor.
Teamwork
- Work collaboratively with servers, kitchen staff, support staff, and leadership to ensure seamless service.
- Support teammates during busy periods while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
- Participate in ongoing training and product education.
- Uphold Dear Dad's service standards and contribute to a culture of accountability and hospitality.
Cash Handling
- Accurately process cash, credit card, and POS transactions.
- Maintain accurate tabs and guest checks.
- Complete end-of-shift cash reconciliation according to company procedures.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum of 2 years of bartending experience.
- Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and composure.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred
- Experience in an upscale casual or fine dining restaurant.
- Wine education or sommelier coursework.
- Knowledge of food and beverage pairing.
- Experience with restaurant POS systems.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Frequently bend, reach, and move throughout the bar area.
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
