ARS is a growing railroad automation and signal equipment manufacturer serving customers worldwide. We design and manufacture innovative control systems and equipment used in rail yards, industrial rail facilities, transit systems, ports, and railroad infrastructure applications.
We are seeking a full-time Software Developer to join our engineering team in the Waco area. This role will focus on developing, configuring, and maintaining software systems used to control and monitor railroad yard equipment and automation systems.
This is a hands-on role working closely with experienced programmers, engineers, and project managers on real-world industrial control and automation applications.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and support software applications for railroad control and monitoring systems.
- Configure and support PLCs, industrial computers, and embedded control systems.
- Collaborate with engineering, project management, and manufacturing teams to deliver reliable automation solutions.
- Design and implement scalable, high-performance software applications.
- Troubleshoot software and system issues in both development and field environments.
- Design user interface in collaboration with engineering, sales & marketing.
- Maintain technical documentation, version control, and software configuration records.
- Participate in testing, validation, and deployment of control systems.
- Support continuous improvement of software architecture, tools, and development processes.
Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals and documentation practices.
- Experience designing and building scalable, high-performance applications.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative engineering environment.
