Responsibilities and Duties:
Receiving

Interacts with drivers delivering materials and makes sure that they comply with docking procedures before the unloading process begins.

Verifies identifying information on the bill of lading; visually inspects shipment packaging and raw materials for damages and shortages. If irregularity exists; corresponds/ communicates with Plant Manager and Purchasing to properly rectify and/or document irregularity.

Unpacks and examines staged incoming shipments: counts, weighs, and measures material. Verifies the examined material information against the bill of ladings, invoices, purchase orders, and incoming quality inspection reports.

Creates inventory tags for raw materials.

Works with the quality department regarding material concerns and rejections.

Collects and prepares all relevant paperwork on purchase orders and forwards them to the accounting department.

Moves and stores all materials in appropriate locations, until needed for production.
Shipping
-
Enters shipments in UPS World Ship manually.
-
Moves completed parts/jobs from the production area to Shipping.
-
Prepares and completes packing slips, material certifications, and bill of ladings for outgoing orders according to schedule.

Prepares skids for shipping by properly loading cartons and stretch wrapping.
-
Posts weights and shipping information on job travelers and on the skids.

Schedules truck pickups, FEDEX, DHL, and UPS shipments

Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications and that all information is correct on all outgoing paperwork and identifying labels.

Operates forklift or uses hand truck to move shipments from shipping and receiving department to a designated storage or work area.

Stages material for jobs to be issued to production and then returns any unused material to the proper storage location with the proper updated inventory tags.
Inventory/Warehouse Management

Cycle counting
-
Organizes the pallet trailer to keep it safe and accessible to employees.

Keeping overall warehouse inventory organized.
-
Operation of Forklift – pulling product from high shelving and loading and unloading trucks.
-
Maneuvering up to 250 lbs. (putting large material rolls on a dolly)
-
Keeps the dock and the doorway in shipping clean when it snows.
