Job Overview
The In-Kind Specialist is responsible for planning and coordinating activities designed to create and maintain a favorable public image and awareness of ACHR and generating and documenting ACHR’s Non-Federal Share (NFS), also known as “match” or “in-kind” (goods/services opposed to monetary funds) requirements. Collaborate with appropriate staff of volunteer requirements. Represent ACHR at community events, and recruit and develop contacts for community resources by cultivating community contacts to increase awareness and collaborative opportunities. Facilitate special events, and implement community outreach programs; document resulting NFS. Collaborate and train staff, parents and family members, volunteers about allowable volunteer services and goods, and required documentation.
Responsibilities
- Publicize agency program federal match/volunteer needs through appropriate channels
- Maintain appropriate database of allowable/non-allowable donations
- Prepare, maintain, and analyze appropriate documentation supporting donations
- Act as the liaison with volunteers and agency staff.
- Locate, process, and distribute donations of goods from Sunshine Shop.
- Attend parent orientation events to explain Volunteerism, RAGS (Reading, Activities and Growth for Success).
- Collect resources for grant applications and search for additional viable source of goods/volunteers.
- Ensure that all paperwork relating to volunteers such as timesheet and completed, signed and submitted timely.
- Attend community meetings to represent ACHR and build community relationships.
- Prepare and give presentations about ACHR and community events.
- Gather news, photographs and other materials used to write news items, public service announcements, and bulletins for local media outlets for events elating to volunteers and donations.
- Prepare thank you letters for volunteers and donations.
- Participate in the comprehension, development, implementation, and support of all fiscal policies, procedures, and forms
- Prepare and reconcile monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc statutory and program reports
- Conduct self-assessment and internal monitoring reviews
- Analyze, research, and correct causes of deficiencies and variances involving the appropriate reporting of the organization’s financial status
- Assist with developing, tracking and managing all budgets
- Represent the Fiscal department in internal and external relations, including but not limited to liaising with programmatic staff, clients, and vendors
- Provides guidance and support to management and departmental representative given tasks and concerns
- Assist with audits of programmatic and financial requirements

Education:
- Associate degree preferred in Public Relations or related area

- Two years’ experience in communications or related area
