Mr. Shrimp is growing, and we're looking for dependable, hardworking team members to join our new 45th Street location.
We are a family-owned fast-casual seafood restaurant known for flavorful Cajun-style seafood, fried shrimp, fried chicken, rice bowls, and seafood boils. We take pride in serving quality food while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen.
Position Overview
As a Prep Cook, you will help prepare ingredients and keep the kitchen stocked and ready for service. This position is an important part of making sure our cooks can consistently prepare orders quickly and accurately.
We're looking for someone who is dependable, organized, works well in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in keeping their workspace clean.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients according to restaurant recipes and procedures
- Wash, cut, portion, and organize food items
- Prepare vegetables, sauces, seasonings, and other ingredients
- Properly portion and store prepared ingredients
- Keep prep areas clean and organized
- Label and date food according to restaurant procedures
- Maintain proper food storage and rotation
- Monitor ingredient levels and communicate when supplies need to be replenished
- Follow food safety and sanitation procedures
- Assist the kitchen team during busy periods
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and work areas
- Help ensure the kitchen is properly stocked before and during service
