LogiCore is seeking a Mission Systems Engineer to support anticipated work in the Fort Eustis, VA area. This role is aligned with upcoming proposal efforts and will play a key part in supporting multi-disciplinary engineering and technical support for areas within the Mission Systems, Platforms, and Technical Integration Divisions, contingent upon contract award.
In this role, you will contribute to mission-critical efforts by applying your expertise in mission systems engineering while working alongside government and industry partners in a collaborative environment. This is an opportunity to be considered early for a high-impact effort supporting critical defense missions.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Generating reports, procedures, plans, and other documentation as required in support of the mission of the TDD-SID. Submittal of these documents shall be in draft form and shall not include the Contractor name / organization. The draft submittals shall be measured against technical competence, timely submittal, and overall completeness/fulfillment of the effort/requirement.
- Performing engineering studies/analyses relating to the design, integration, or testing of components. Apply these studies/analyses and engineering models as applicable towards associated aviation platforms and support systems. Additionally, these may be utilized for the development of requirements definitions, system architecture, software, and hardware designs.
- Conducting test preparation and execution or test-related activities for various R&D activities of the TDD-SID. Aid in developing and writing test plans, test reports, and test execution of tests IAW approved test plans and procedures. Examples of testing shall include but not limited to; material testing, sub-component and full system checkout, and environmental testing (temperature, altitude, humidity, vibration, and shock testing) IAW military and other appropriate engineering standards.
- Planning for future efforts, monitoring program execution, and documenting program results. Support organizing and conducting meetings, assembling communities of interest, and documenting meeting results.
- Researching areas relevant to existing and future military systems. Ability to support and present results through white papers, technical interchange meetings, and Government approved conferences/briefings.
- Developing modeling and simulation system environments, system architectures, and system verification plans for various R&D activities of the SID.
- Providing systems engineering and analysis support in the definition of technical performance measures used in test and evaluation, and for post-test data collection and analysis. Examples include but are not limited to subsystem or system level simulation evaluation, human-in-the-loop evaluation or field testing of multiple aircraft types, or representative avionics, mission computers, sensors, or weapons system.
- Traveling up to 25% in support of mission requirements in the form of site surveys, technical interchange meetings, training, testing support, and other critical tasks outside of the JBLE facilities.
- Supporting flight duties may be required based upon Mission needs. When required this will be coordinated through the COR to the Contractor. Specified individuals supporting this TO:
a. Must be able to pass a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) III class or military Class III flight physical annually and provide a copy of their last Department of the Army (DA) Form 759 closeout performing flight duties as a qualified non- crewmember as per AR 95-20, AR 95-1 and Training Circular (TC) 3-04.11, Commander’s Aviation Training and Standardization Program.
b. Must be able to qualify for participation in night flights and the use of Night Vision Goggles (NVGs).
Qualifications
The candidate for this position shall meet the following minimum education and experience requirements detailed sections below. Additionally, this individual must demonstrate the ability to oversee the efforts of the technical and less senior staff for the implementation and development of duties listed.
Senior Level
Bachelor’s Degree
- In the field of Aerospace, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering from an ABET accredited program including differential and integral calculus, electrical fields and circuits, and other comparable engineering science or physics; and
- Minimum of eight years of experience with the generation of test plans, analysis, and reports specific to aviation and/or R&D programs. Ability to present these findings at technical interchange meetings and senior level briefings; and
- Minimum of eight years of experience with Modeling and Simulation theory and implementation of testing environments
Masters Degree
- In the field of Aerospace, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering from an ABET accredited program including differential and integral calculus, electrical fields and circuits, and other comparable engineering science or physics; and
- Minimum of six years of experience with the generation of test plans, analysis, and reports specific to aviation and/or R&D programs. Ability to present these findings at technical interchange meetings and senior level briefings; and
- Minimum of six years of experience with Modeling and Simulation theory and implementation of testing environments.
Doctoral Degree
- In the field of Aerospace, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering from an ABET accredited program including differential and integral calculus, electrical fields and circuits, and other comparable engineering science or physics; and
- Minimum of six years of experience with the generation of test plans, analysis, and reports specific to aviation and/or R&D programs. Ability to present these findings at technical interchange meetings and senior level briefings; and
- Minimum of three years of experience with Modeling and Simulation theory and implementation of testing environments.
Active, in-scope Secret security clearance required.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Position contingent upon award.
Letter of Commitment required.
This role is performed onsite in Fort Eustis, VA.
Compensation: The anticipated salary range for this position is $72,000–$170,000 annually. Actual compensation will depend on factors including experience, education, certifications, security clearance level, geographic location, contract labor category, and applicable government contract requirements. This position is contingent upon contract award.
