JOB The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) at Pratt supports faculty in teaching within and across all schools at the Institute, in face-to-face, online, and hybrid classroom and studio settings. The Center aims to advance and sustain a creative culture of teaching and learning while equipping faculty with the resources and strategies needed to support all students.
The Center for Teaching and Learning seeks a full-time Educational Technologist to work closely with a dynamic CTL team, partnering and collaborating with faculty to integrate digital tools and emerging technologies into teaching and learning within art, design, and architecture contexts. This person will be responsive to educational technology questions from faculty, hold office hours, create resources, and research and present on emerging educational tools to enhance teaching and learning.
The Educational Technologist will liaise with the IT department to help faculty utilize Canvas, our Learning Management System (LMS), design instructional materials, and facilitate effective training workshops for faculty on media production and online learning tools. Working alongside faculty and other institutional partners, and offices, the Educational Technologist will also help embed accessibility standards into instructional design, ensuring that digital learning materials support equitable pedagogical practices. In this role, they will coordinate CTL programs focused on teaching with technology and supporting Canvas usage across the Institute. They must stay updated on evidence-based practices in educational technology, including AI within higher education, especially in art and design contexts, in order to provide support and advice to faculty.
The Educational Technologist will also be responsible for maintaining and updating the CTL website (WordPress), collecting and analyzing CTL data throughout the year, and supporting CTL use of collaborative and community-building tools (Miro, Milanote, etc.) and resources.
