Lifestyle Director — Make Every Day a Celebration!
Are you the person your friends call when they need something planned — and planned well? We're looking for a Lifestyle Director with an outgoing, magnetic personality who thrives under pressure and loves turning a blank calendar into a year full of unforgettable moments for our HOA community.
This isn't a sit-behind-a-desk job. It's fast-paced, fun, and genuinely high-responsibility — you'll be trusted with a real budget, a full events calendar, and the experience of thousands of residents. If you like the rush of pulling off a big event flawlessly (and can handle the pressure that comes with it), keep reading.
Note: This is not a senior living or daycare position — it's community lifestyle programming for an HOA of all ages.
Position Summary
The Lifestyle Director designs, coordinates, and executes a full calendar of social, educational, and physical activities for our residents — from small neighborhood get-togethers to major community-wide celebrations, on an annual budget of $50k+. You'll need to be flexible enough to create engaging programming across every age group and life stage in the community — young families, teens, adults, and retirees all need to see themselves on your calendar.
Several of our signature annual events already have an established format and planning framework — you'll take ownership of executing these consistently and well, while bringing fresh creative energy to everything else on the calendar.
Work Schedule
Full-time (40 hrs/week), including flexible evenings and weekends — event days aren't 9-to-5, and neither is this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute a full lifestyle events calendar, balancing new ideas with our established framework for major annual events
- Design programming that's genuinely inclusive across all ages and interests in the community
- Meet with residents as needed to coordinate event center rentals
- Gather resident, staff, and vendor feedback and adjust programs based on what's working
- Manage vendors and volunteers on-site during every phase of an event — start to finish, no hand-holding needed
- Keep a complete event file for every activity: vendor info, contracts, receipts, reimbursements, summaries
- Photograph every event and submit photos/summaries within two business days
- Partner with the Community Manager on annual calendar planning
- Pursue sponsors and community partnerships to expand programming
- Handle event marketing and resident communications (e-blasts, flyers, newsletters)
What We're Looking For
- A genuinely outgoing, high-energy personality — you light up a room and residents remember you
- Strong communicator, both in writing and in person — you'll be the voice of our events in emails, flyers, and face-to-face with residents
- Highly organized — you don't let details slip even when things get hectic
- Someone who stays calm under pressure when ten things are happening at once
- Strong multitasking skills — you're planning next month's gala while running today's pool party
- Experience in event planning, hospitality, or community programming
- Comfortable and confident working with residents, vendors, and volunteers of all kinds
- Must be proficient in Canva for event marketing materials
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs (event setup/breakdown)
Why You'll Love This Role
- No two days look the same — high energy, high visibility, high reward
- Real ownership over a real budget and a real calendar residents look forward to
- A supportive, resident-focused team that has your back when things get hectic
- The chance to be the reason someone's neighborhood feels like a community
