What we are looking for:
The Machinist I is a multi-functional role that is responsible for producing or repairing precision parts using both manual and automated machinery such as CNC Mills, lathes, mill grinders, and other precision measurement equipment. This role will also assist our Maintenance team with machinery and equipment repairs in support of sustaining daily operations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Operates a variety of machining equipment, including but not limited to: CNC mills, manual mills, lathes, saws, measurement devices, grinders, and hand tools.
- Perform complex and developmental machining work with minimal technical supervision.
- Constructs complex tooling and components from existing designs, collaborating cross-functionally to fabricate tooling per engineering prints.
- Produces parts as per specifications, maintaining required tolerances, surface finishes, and quality standards.
- Works from CAD models, engineering drawings, and sketches.
- Adjusts or verifies tooling is accurate prior to production usage.
- Assembles tooling or sub-assemblies requiring tight tolerances and high precision.
- Performs quality inspections on finished tooling.
- Troubleshoots mechanical manufacturing equipment issues.
- Methodically works through equipment/process issues to identify the root cause of failure.
- Tests and diagnoses malfunctioning machinery and collaborates with other maintenance technicians to develop and install proper repairs.
What you bring to the table:
- High School diploma or equivalent required. Technical school training or apprenticeship is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 1-3 years tool room experience or basic machining operations.
- Minimum 1 year of experience with Hurco or Mazak CNC mills preferred.
- Ability to operate machine shop equipment such as lathe, mill grinder, saw, etc.
- Ability to use tools, read rulers, scales and gauges.
- Ability to read complex drawings, diagrams, or blue prints.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Experience using CAD software. Fusion, AutoCAD and SolidWorks preferred.
- Self-starter with ability to work in a high paced environment
- Good mechanical skills are a must.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to get along well with others and work in a team environment.

- Ability to independently prioritize and execute projects and responsibilities
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Ability to be creative with projects that are non-routine in nature.
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
