Bucks County, PA N&J Excavation, Inc. is a veteran-owned residential and government site development contractor with over 25 years of experience in excavation and paving. We are currently seeking an experienced Paving Equipment Operator to join our asphalt paving crew. Work is located primarily along Route 309 in Bucks County and surrounding areas.

Position SummaryThe Paving Equipment Operator will operate asphalt paving equipment including the Asphalt Paver, Roller, and Skid Steer on residential and government paving projects. This multi-skilled position requires the ability to run multiple pieces of equipment and assist the paving crew as needed to ensure high-quality asphalt placement and compaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate the Asphalt Paver to lay down and distribute hot mix asphalt to proper grade and depth
- Operate Steel Drum Rollers (tandem and three-wheel) for breakdown, intermediate, and finish rolling of asphalt surfaces
- Operate Skid Steer for material handling, cleanup, grading, and support tasks on the paving crew
- Oil, grease, service, and perform normal operating adjustments to equipment
- Guide and direct dump trucks while backing up to the paver hopper
- Assist with other duties on the paving crew as required
- Maintain focus on safety, quality workmanship, and teamwork
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience operating asphalt paving equipment preferred (Asphalt Paver, Roller, or related heavy equipment)
- We will train the right motivated candidate
- Valid PA Driver’s License strongly preferred
- Willingness to learn and perform multiple tasks in the paving operation
- Ability to follow precise instructions and strict safety rules
- Reliable, trustworthy team player with good attendance and a strong safety record
Physical Requirements
This position requires frequent standing, walking, stretching, bending, lifting, pulling, twisting, throwing, reaching, and squatting. Overtime may be required during the busy paving season.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $52,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
