Duties
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines and CNC lathes, ensuring accurate machining based on technical drawings and specifications
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and production documents to determine machining requirements
- Program CNC machines using G-code, CAM software, and Fanuc controls to optimize machining processes
- Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to verify part accuracy
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments on CNC equipment to maintain optimal performance
- Follow safety standards in production environments, including proper use of hand tools and personal protective equipment
- Maintain detailed records of machine setups, production runs, and quality inspections for traceability and continuous improvement
Requirements
- Proven experience operating CNC milling machines and CNC lathes within a manufacturing or factory setting
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code and CAM programming tools
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and production documents accurately
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and industrial equipment troubleshooting
- Skilled in using precision measurement instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and shop math for quality control
- Experience with CAD software like SolidWorks for interpreting design models is a plus
- Mechanical aptitude with understanding of fabrication processes including stamping presses, press brake machines, and materials handling
- Ability to operate forklifts safely when required for materials movement or tooling setup
- Knowledge of safety standards in manufacturing environments to ensure a safe workspace at all times
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills in a fast-paced production environment
