Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will assess, develop, and implement personalized occupational therapy programs to improve the functional independence and quality of life for children in their school. You will work in a school based setting delivering evidence-based care that promotes recovery and supports children with disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, and physical rehabilitation needs. Your expertise will help clients of young ages achieve their goals through innovative treatment plans and compassionate patient care.
COMPETITIVE PAY: HOURLY RATE $60-$70
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to evaluate patients’ physical, cognitive, sensory, and emotional needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with clinical best practices, patient goals, and medical documentation standards.
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams—including speech therapists, physicians, educators, and case managers—to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes.
- Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic health records (EHR).
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with advances in occupational therapy techniques, neurodevelopmental disorders support, autism spectrum disorders interventions, and evidence-based practices.
Skills
- Current New York State Occupational Therapist license in good standing.
- Completion of required clinical fieldwork.
- Strong clinical assessment, treatment-planning, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively with children, families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Compliance with all applicable NYS licensing and professional requirements.s.
- Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice principles in all aspects of patient care; strong teamwork skills for interprofessional collaboration are essential.
