Job Overview
EBTRON, a market leader in the rapidly growing technology sector of building automation, is looking for a dedicated, self-motivated purchasing agent to join our team. The purchasing agent reports to the Vice President of Operations and is responsible for identifying suppliers, researching goods and services, processing purchase orders, and verifying delivered items. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a commercial mindset. You should know how to evaluate market conditions and different suppliers. Communication skills will help you negotiate effectively and maintain profitable relationships.
What you might be doing:
- Source suppliers based on price, availability, necessity, quality and logistical expenses
- Assess vendors and their offers with in-person visits, interviews and analysis to assess their quality
- Forward available inventory items by verifying stock and delivery schedules.
- Prepare purchase orders by verifying specifications and price, while managing purchases by forwarding orders to suppliers and monitoring and expediting orders.
- Verify receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolve shipment errors with suppliers.
- Obtain recommendations from suppliers.
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand purchasing requirements.
- Compare quotes from multiple suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
- Forecast demand for goods and services to create effective procurement plans.
- Monitor inventory levels to prevent overstocking or shortages.

- Meet with project managers at the beginning of jobs to secure optimal pricing and delivery of long lead time and high volume items
