Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and construction equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, bulldozers, and forklifts using OEM schematics and electrical diagnostics tools.
- Conduct repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, brakes, air brakes, HVAC systems, and other critical components of construction machinery.
- Fabricate parts or modifications as needed using welding, soldering, and power tools to ensure equipment functions efficiently.
- Service and maintain farm machinery, industrial equipment, tractor-trailers, and construction machinery to meet safety standards and operational requirements.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform automotive diagnostics to identify issues accurately before executing repairs.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely while replacing tires, aligning wheels, repairing suspensions, or assembling parts for various types of heavy equipment.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and ensure all work complies with safety regulations and OEM specifications.
Qualifications
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment maintenance in dealership or industrial settings.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and HVAC components.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; familiarity with schematics essential for troubleshooting complex systems.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery such as excavators or forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, diagnostic software, and service manuals for precise repairs.
- Knowledge of construction equipment servicing standards and safety protocols.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members and clients alike.
