About the Role:
Hope for Kids Childcare Center in Duluth, MN is looking for a passionate and nurturing Assistant Teacher to join our dedicated team! Responsibilities:
- Assist lead teachers in planning and implementing age-appropriate educational activities and lesson plans
- Supervise and engage children in a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
- Support children's social, emotional, and cognitive development through play-based learning
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom and play areas
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's daily progress
- Help manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement techniques
- Assist with meals, snacks, rest time, and daily routines
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required; coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred
- Prior experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting is a plus
- Genuine passion for child development and early childhood education
- Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to pass a background check as required by state childcare regulations
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Reliable, punctual, and a collaborative team player
