Job Description:
As a Junior Plumbing Mechanic, you will assist senior mechanics in the installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and light commercial plumbing systems. This is a foundational role ideal for someone early in their plumbing career who’s eager to work alongside experienced professionals, sharpen their skills, and gain practical knowledge in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist senior plumbers with diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and fittings.
- Perform basic installations and repairs, such as installing faucets, replacing valves, unclogging drains, and repairing leaks.
- Set up job sites by organizing and carrying materials, digging, lifting, and setting up tools and equipment as needed. Ensure tools and materials are organized and accessible.
- Use a tape measure accurately to assist in layout, installation, and repair projects.
- Complete minor service calls independently as skills progress.
- Communicate with clients professionally, maintaining a courteous and customer-focused approach at all times.
- Learn to interpret plumbing blueprints and building codes as part of the on-the-job training.
- Adhere to company and OSHA safety guidelines, keeping a safe and clean work environment.
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of basic plumbing experience preferred, or completion of a plumbing trade program.
- Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn from a team of experienced professionals.
- Ability to use basic hand and power tools effectively.
- Strong attention to detail with a willingness to follow directions closely.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; willingness to drive a company vehicle as needed.
- Familiarity with safety protocols.
- Familiarity with plumbing codes is a plus.
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, dig, climb ladders, and work in small or elevated spaces.
