Position Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and successful delivery of assigned construction projects. This position manages project schedules, budgets, contracts, documentation, procurement, and communication to ensure work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with project requirements and TCI standards.
The Project Manager works closely with the Superintendent, clients, design professionals, subcontractors, and internal teams to resolve challenges, maintain project performance, and deliver a strong client experience.
Successful Project Managers at TCI take ownership of their projects, communicate clearly, manage details effectively, and build strong relationships throughout the life of the project.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage assigned construction projects from planning and preconstruction through closeout.
- Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, forecasts, and overall project plans.
- Coordinate contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, submittals, RFIs, and other project documentation.
- Manage procurement of subcontractor services, materials, and equipment to support project schedules.
- Monitor project financial performance, including costs, change management, vendor invoices, and client billing.
- Work closely with the Superintendent to coordinate field operations, schedules, logistics, and project priorities.
- Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication with clients, design professionals, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Identify project risks and challenges and work with the project team to develop effective solutions.
- Monitor safety, quality, schedule, and contractual requirements throughout the project.
- Manage project closeout, final documentation, financial reconciliation, and client turnover.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction and construction management processes.
- Understanding of the complete project lifecycle from preconstruction through closeout.
- Strong project budgeting, cost control, forecasting, scheduling, and financial management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, schedules, and other project documents.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to identify and address project challenges.
- Ability to build productive relationships with clients, superintendents, design professionals, subcontractors, and team members.
- Proficiency with construction project management, accounting, scheduling, and standard business software.
- Commitment to TCI's standards for safety, quality, accountability, teamwork, and client service.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent relevant construction and project management experience may be considered in place of a degree.
- 5+ years of commercial construction management or related project management experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing construction projects through multiple phases from planning through closeout.
- Experience managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, contracts, and project documentation.
- Previous experience with casino, healthcare, educational, or entertainment construction projects is preferred.
- Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
Working Environment & Requirements
- Work is performed in both office and active construction site environments.
- Ability to regularly travel to assigned project sites and other business locations as needed.
- Periodic travel and/or temporary relocation may be required depending on project assignments.
- Must be willing to work non-traditional hours when necessary to meet project schedules and responsibilities.
- Must be comfortable navigating active construction sites, including stairs, uneven surfaces, and other typical jobsite conditions.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
