Responsibilities
- Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Conduct clinical assessments and document patient progress accurately in accordance with clinical documentation standards.
- Utilize manual therapy techniques, including trigger point therapy and other physiotherapy methods, to facilitate pain relief and mobility improvements.
- Operate medical equipment safely and effectively during therapy sessions, ensuring proper use and maintenance.
- Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and discharge planning efforts.
- Maintain meticulous electronic health records (EHR) management, ensuring all medical documentation complies with regulatory standards.
- Communicate clearly with patients and caregivers to explain treatment procedures, answer questions, and foster a supportive environment for recovery.
Qualifications
- Able to work with kids.
- Valid certification or license as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in accordance with state regulations.
- Proven experience working in inpatient settings, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, or home health environments.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy.
- Skilled in clinical assessment documentation and medical documentation practices.
- Proficiency in medical equipment operation and electronic health records (EHR) management systems.
- Experience with various therapeutic techniques such as manual therapy, physiotherapy treatments, and trigger point therapy.
- Excellent communication skills for effective caregiver and client interactions across diverse populations.
