American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Sonographer / Echo Technologist for a 13-week travel contract in Temple, TX, requiring a minimum of 3 years of experience and Level I Trauma experience.

Non-Invasive Cardiology department in an acute care hospital setting
-
Adult cardiac patient population
-
Procedures include transthoracic, transesophageal (TEE), and stress echocardiography, as well as intraoperative echocardiographic studies
-
5x8-hour AM shifts, Tuesday through Saturday (Tue–Fri 7:30 AM–4:30 PM; Sat 6:00 AM–2:00 PM)

Minimum of 3 years of cardiac sonography experience

Level I Trauma experience required

Active BLS certification (AHA only)

RCS or RDCS certification required
-
Associate degree or higher required
-
Active TX license required if applicable

Must be independent and self-sufficient

2 professional references required for consideration

Flu shot required; no exemptions accepted

Performs basic to advanced cardiac ultrasound procedures, making measurements required for physician interpretation
-
Identifies and defines cardiac abnormalities, extending examination scope and correlating invasive and noninvasive diagnostic results as needed
-
May assist physicians in procedure and operating rooms by performing echocardiographic studies during complex procedures
-
Assists cardiologists with TEE studies, including calculating measurements and probe sterilization
-
Obtains patient clinical history and adapts imaging techniques to ensure comprehensive, diagnostic-quality echocardiograms
-
Performs daily maintenance of the Echocardiography Lab and its equipment, reporting malfunctions as appropriate

Collaborates with the cardiac sonographer quality coordinator to ensure adherence to quality processes and IAC accreditation standards

Serves as a resource to staff, physicians, and students regarding equipment, techniques, and procedures

Any solid color scrubs required; no printed patterns

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local travelers are not accepted
