GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
The Emergency Services Support Services Coordinator is responsible for managing logistical operations and providing essential support to all divisions within Emergency Services. This role ensures that equipment, facilities, and resources are effectively maintained and available to support routine operations and emergency responses.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS
An employee in this class is responsible for overseeing the management and maintenance of the Department's physical infrastructure, vehicles, and equipment. This is achieved through effective coordination with internal departments, external vendors, and partner agencies. Performance is evaluated for alignment with departmental goals through regular conferences, reports, and record reviews.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Serve as the primary point of accountability for facility operations, proactively overseeing and coordinating maintenance, functionality, and security to ensure facilities meet operational and safety standards.
Monitor and direct vehicle maintenance schedules, repairs, and equipment readiness, ensuring fleet reliability and compliance with operational readiness.
Lead logistical planning and execution during emergency activations, including coordinating supply chains, staging areas, and resource deployment to support response operations. Serve in a call-back role to complete this responsibility.
Manage vendor relationships and service contracts, including performance monitoring, coordination of services, and support of procurement processes to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
Participate in budget development, independently track expenditures, and recommend cost-effective strategies to support fiscal responsibility and operational efficiency.
Ensure facilities, equipment, and operational practices comply with all applicable safety standards, policies, and regulatory requirements, proactively identify and mitigate risks while maintaining all OSHA required documentation.
Coordinate and oversee the operation, maintenance, and readiness of seven (7) radio tower sites, ensuring continuous functionality and compliance with operational standards.
Manage the OPW fuel control system and oversee fleet fuel inventory across two fueling locations, radio tower sites, and base generators to ensure uninterrupted operations. Monitor and oversee department use of Go Gas system.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma and three (3) years of experience in logistics, facility management, or emergency services operations. Current driver license required.
Special Requirements:
Must obtain within one year, EMT, FEMA Incident Command System (ICS) certifications (ICS 100, 200, 300, and 700), Forklift Operators License and Class B driver license.
Preferred Qualifications:

Physical Demands and Work Conditions:
An employee in this position must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. The employee must be able to perform medium work exerting in excess of 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
May Require Driving
This position may require driving for this position whether driving a County owned or personal vehicle to conduct county business such as but not limited to attending conferences, meetings, or any other county related functions. Motor Vehicle Reports may be verified for valid driver’s license and that the driving record is compatible with the county’s driving criteria.
If a personal vehicle is operated for county business proper insurance is maintained as per Guilford County’s vehicle use policy.
