Meet the Family
This family is looking for a warm, dependable, and adventurous nanny to become a true partner in raising their daughter — a happy, curious, and active two-year-old who lights up when she's outside, reading a new book, or in the middle of a hands-on project. One parent works from home part of the time but also travels 50–75% of the quarter for work, and the other parent works full-time outside the home, so this family is looking for someone who can bring steady, loving consistency to their daughter's world — a true "village" member she can count on.
This is a family that believes deeply in learning through play, not screens. They're building a home that's calm, respectful, and full of exploration, and they want a nanny who shares that same philosophy and is excited to grow with their family for the long haul.
The Ideal Candidate
You're the kind of person who gets down on the floor to build block towers, who finds joy in a puddle-jumping walk just as much as story time, and who believes a well-organized playroom is its own kind of magic. You're:
- Warm, trustworthy, and genuinely passionate about early childhood development
- Proactive and dependable — someone who anticipates needs rather than waits to be asked
- Calm under pressure, with excellent, honest communication
- Committed to fostering independence through patient guidance, not doing everything for their daughter
- An outdoor enthusiast who loves reading, creative play, and dreaming up enriching experiences
- Someone who models kindness, respect, curiosity, honesty, and healthy habits every day
Bonus points if you speak French or are open to brushing up — their daughter will begin French studies soon, and a nanny who can practice with her would be a wonderful asset (though not required).
A Day in This Role
- Full days of engaged, screen-free play: outdoor adventures, music, reading, and hands-on learning
- Preparing and cleaning up after their daughter's meals
- Keeping her bedroom, playroom, and shared play spaces tidy and organized
- Light household tidying tied to her care (dishes, kitchen area, toy pickup)
- Washing her bedding and linens, and taking out household trash as needed
- Keeping a daily log of meals, naps, activities, and milestones — this family loves staying connected to every part of their daughter's day
- Safe, reliable driving for outings and appointments
- Occasional overnights at the family's home, and Occasional Travel when mom/dad is traveling
Schedule
- Monday – Friday, generally 7:15/7:45 AM – 5:15 PM (family is happy to consider a firm 5:00 PM end time)
- Early releases possible on some Fridays
- 40–45 hours per week
- Some overnight care and travel opportunities when family has work trips
Compensation & Benefits
- $25–$28/hour, paid legally through HomePay
- Paid sick days
- Anticipated start date: ASAP
- Initial placement structured as a 1-year contract, with the family's hope to build a long-term relationship
Household Details
- Located in Fort Collins, Colorado
- One child in the home (no other household employees)
- Housekeeper comes regularly, so this role stays focused on their daughter
- Flu and TDAP vaccinations required
- Family has prior experience employing a nanny and values a smooth, respectful working relationship
Why This Family
This family isn't just looking for childcare — they're looking for a partner. Someone who will help their daughter grow into a confident, curious, kind person, and who wants to be a steady, joyful presence in her life for years to come. If you're an adventurous, nurturing caregiver who believes in the power of play, connection, and the outdoors, this could be a wonderful fit.
