General Position Summary:
Performs technical duties as required. Installs, maintains and repairs equipment and facility.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

Installs, maintains and repairs facility equipment (internal and external)

Monitors and make adjustments and repairs as necessary to facility systems and equipment

Works with other hotel departments solving engineering related complaints and problems (i.e., guest rooms, laundry, boilers, etc) to include preventive maintenance

Completes multiple projects within strict time constraints in an effort to reduce “down time”

Proven ability to use assorted power equipment safely and efficiently

Proven ability to maintain unique and decorative carpentry

Projects a professional and positive customer service persona at all times (Clearly Superior Customer Service)
Secondary Functions:
-
Attends bi-weekly hotel operation meetings to remain apprised of hotel events, etc.

May assist with limited landscaping needs

May be required to assist with event set-up

Monitors hotel vehicle routine scheduled maintenance (i.e., wiper blades, checks oil, reports anomalies to Director)

Perform other job related duties as assigned by Director
Specific Job Skills:
-
Ability to use hand and power tools, safely and efficiently
-
Ability to use a multi-meter
-
Must be able to troubleshoot equipment using a schematic or wiring diagram
-
Experience in all aspects of building maintenance including plumbing, electrical, carpentry and refrigeration (i.e., filters, coils, monitoring all systems equipment related to hotel and guest rooms, etc)

Provides additional assistance with repairs which may involve cleaning (some overlap with guest room deep cleaning)

Must hold a valid Washington State Driver’s License and comply with Port Madison Enterprises driving policy

Maintains preventative maintenance logs on guest rooms and equipment
Education and/or Experience:
High School diploma or GED required. Minimum four (4) years technical background required.
Job Conditions:
Working conditions include inside or outside work, in possible inclement weather conditions for long periods. Climbing (stairs and use of ladders), lifting, bending, stooping and crawling into difficult workspaces. Other conditions include working alone, frequent interruptions, evenings and/or weekends.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. while standing, twisting, turning, stooping or bending. Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods. Manual and finger dexterity for operation of personal computers, routine paperwork and hand and power tools.
