Responsibilities
Provide direct labor and delivery nursing care to patients on-site.
Monitor maternal and fetal status; intervene per protocol during labor.
Ensure compliance with clinical policies, safety standards, and infection control.
Collaborate with obstetric team to develop and adjust care plans.
Document patient progress and maintain accurate medical records.
Educate patients and families on labor progress and discharge expectations.
Meet productivity targets and contribute to performance pipelines within the unit.
Utilize on-site resources to optimize patient throughput and care quality.
Demonstrate continuous professional development and pursue merit-based advancement.
Support on-call and shift coverage to maintain 24/7 patient access.
Assist with postpartum care and newborn assessments as needed.
Experience/Qualifications
Active RN license with L&D or OB priority; current CPR certification.
Minimum 2 years in labor and delivery or obstetric triage.
Proficiency in fetal monitoring and interpreting non-stress tests.
Ability to respond to intrapartum emergencies per protocol.
Strong documentation of patient progress in electronic health records.
Knowledge of infection control, safety standards, and obstetric policies.
Demonstrated teamwork with obstetricians, midwives, and neonatology staff.
Flexibility to cover on-call shifts and 24/7 patient access.
Patient and family education on labor, discharge, and newborn care.
Willingness to participate in performance pipelines and productivity metrics.
