Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced CDL Class B Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods, along with performing basic vehicle maintenance and light mechanical tasks, while remaining compliant with all state and federal regulations.
Responsibilities
- Operate Class B commercial vehicles safely and efficiently
- Transport goods to designated locations in a timely manner
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles
- Conduct light mechanical work, including basic maintenance such as checking fluids, replacing bulbs, minor repairs, and identifying mechanical issues
- Coordinate with maintenance staff for larger repairs when needed
- Maintain accurate logs and records in compliance with DOT regulations
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety procedures
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers
- Ensure cargo is properly secured and delivered without damage
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class B license (New York)
- Clean driving record
- Minimum 5 years of commercial driving experience preferred
- Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards
- Strong work ethic and punctuality
Compensation & Benefits
