Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)Job Description
The OR RN provides safe, quality, patient-centered nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures. The RN works with the surgical team and serves as a patient advocate.
Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patients of all ages.
- Prepare patients and the operating room for surgery.
- Provide perioperative nursing care.
- Maintain sterile technique and patient safety.
- Assess and manage patient pain.
- Develop and follow nursing care plans.
- Work closely with surgeons, anesthesia, nurses, and other healthcare staff.
- Provide age-appropriate care for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Maintain accurate patient documentation.
- Follow hospital and surgical department policies.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited RN program.
- Current Oklahoma RN license required.
- BSN preferred.
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years experience
- Must have ACLS, BLS/BCLS, PALS Certification
