About the Opportunity
Our client, a growing precision machining manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Lead CNC Operator – Swiss CNC to join their team. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for setup, programming, troubleshooting, and operation of Swiss CNC equipment while serving as a technical resource and mentor for the production team.
The ideal candidate will have extensive Swiss machining experience, strong programming capabilities, and a passion for continuous improvement and employee development.
- Provide hands-on support and guidance to CNC operators and machinists.
- Train and mentor team members on machine setup, operation, troubleshooting, and best practices.
- Promote a culture focused on quality, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Serve as the primary shop-floor resource for machining processes and machine performance.
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot Swiss CNC machines and bar feeders.
- Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs to improve cycle times, efficiency, and quality.
- Standardize machining practices and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Verify tooling, offsets, machine parameters, and setups to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Support new product launches, process development, and job prove-outs.
- Operate equipment as needed to support production requirements.
- Ensure all products meet customer specifications and quality standards.
- Partner with the Quality team to achieve first-piece approval and first-time-through quality.
- Support preventive maintenance programs and machine reliability initiatives.
- Assist with troubleshooting equipment issues and coordinating maintenance support when necessary.
- Extensive experience setting up, programming, and operating Swiss CNC machines.
- Strong understanding of tooling, workholding, machining principles, feeds and speeds.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, inspection requirements, and GD&T.
- Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience training, mentoring, and leading production personnel.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Proficiency with Fanuc and Mitsubishi controls.
- Pay: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour
