Kraft Auctions is hiring a hands-on, travel-ready Field Technician for our Antique Truck and Tractor division. This role combines driving and hauling, equipment handling, light mechanical work, photography and cataloging for online auctions. The ideal candidate is flexible, personable, safety-minded, and comfortable working outdoors in a highly physical role. In this role, you will be required to potentially travel nationwide to complete auctions and bring items back to Kraft to be auctioned. You will learn how to safely operate tractors of all makes, models, and vintage and will also work with early cars, parts, and literature. You will be required to be able to switch gears and tasks on a moment's notice and be able to complete the tasks in a timely fashion.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Load, secure, and Haul: Safely load trailers, secure equipment, and operate trucks and trailers to pick up and deliver tractors, trucks, and related equipment using bumper pull and gooseneck style equipment up to 40ft long and crew cab dually trucks. Use of winches, straps, chains and binders, ramps, and other rigging equipment often.
· Equipment handling: Move, stage, and position tractors and trucks for transport and photography.
· Cataloging and photography: Photograph equipment, document condition, record serial numbers, and create detailed listings for online auction catalogs.
· Basic mechanical work: Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs; assist mechanics with larger jobs.
· Site prep and cleanup: Prepare auction lots, clean equipment, and return sites to safe condition.
· Team collaboration: Work closely with auction staff, consignors, and buyers; represent Kraft Auctions professionally on-site.
· Travel and scheduling: Travel frequently to consignor locations, sometimes overnight; adapt to changing schedules and priorities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Valid driver's license with clean driving record; CDL preferred but not required.
· Experience towing trailers and operating trucks; comfortable with backing and maneuvering large trailers and equipment.
· Physical capability to lift heavy items, climb, crawl under equipment, and work in confined spaces.
· Basic mechanical aptitude; familiarity with tractors, engines, ignition points, carburetors, or farm equipment is a strong plus.
· Photography and computer skills: Able to take clear photos and enter data into online forms or auction software.
· Willingness to travel regularly and work flexible hours, including occasional weekends.
· Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor.
· Team player who follows safety procedures and contributes to a positive work environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Prior experience with antique or vintage tractors and trucks.
· Experience using auction or inventory management platforms.
· Heavy-equipment operation experience.
· Forklift, CDL, or other relevant certifications.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
· Highly physical: frequent lifting of 50+ lbs, climbing up on tall tractors or equipment, bending, and kneeling.
· Outdoor work in varied weather conditions. We work and catalog in ALL weather conditions.
· Hands-on tasks that may require crawling under equipment and working around grease, oil, and dust.
· Safety-first mindset with adherence to PPE and safe rigging practices.
Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
