We are currently looking for a Saw Operator to join our growing production team.
About the Saw Operator Position
As a Saw Operator, you will play an important role in the beginning stages of the fabrication process. You will be responsible for accurately measuring and cutting raw materials to the required specifications so that our welders, machinists, and fabricators have the materials they need to produce quality finished products.
This position is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working with measurements and blueprints.
What You’ll Do
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, work orders, and material lists.
- Accurately read and use a tape measure and other measuring tools.
- Measure, mark, and lay out material for cutting.
- Set up and operate band saws and other cutting equipment.
- Cut steel and other materials to specified lengths, angles, and tolerances.
- Verify measurements and cuts to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Select the appropriate material and ensure it matches job requirements.
- Identify and communicate material or measurement discrepancies.
- Deburr, clean, and prepare cut material for the next stage of production.
- Properly label, organize, and stage completed material.
- Assist with material handling and movement throughout the shop.
- Perform basic cleaning and routine maintenance of saw equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
- Work closely with other members of the production team to keep jobs moving efficiently.
- Maintain a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and productivity.
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
Preferred:
- Previous experience operating a band saw or industrial saw.
- Previous experience in metal fabrication, machining, welding, or manufacturing.
- Experience working with steel or other metal materials.
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, or other precision measuring tools.
- Previous experience working from blueprints or shop drawings.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to frequently bend, reach, kneel, and lift.
- Ability to safely lift and move materials as required.
- Ability to work around industrial equipment and machinery.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, metal, dust, and varying temperatures.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
