Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant / Registered Dental Assistant (RDA), where your expertise will directly contribute to delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced, welcoming environment.
Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry.
- Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, materials, and supplies, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use in accordance with infection prevention management protocols.
- Take and develop high-quality dental x-rays and 3D scans while adhering to dental x-ray safety standards and HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy.
- Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Epic, or similar platforms for accurate medical documentation and coding.
- Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques, maintaining clinical confidentiality policies at all times.
- Conduct vital signs assessments and medical imaging procedures to support comprehensive patient evaluations.
- Support the dental reception team by managing patient check-ins/outs, scheduling appointments, and handling administrative tasks efficiently.
- Ensure strict adherence to dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards across all clinical activities.
- Educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care while demonstrating excellent communication skills using clear dental terminology.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Dental Assistant or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) with current licensure where applicable.
- Proven experience working in a general dentistry or pediatric dentistry setting with familiarity in dental clinic operations.
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Epic or similar platforms; experience with medical coding is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection prevention management, and sterilization procedures.
- Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely and accurately while maintaining radiation safety standards.
- Skilled in chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and endodontic procedures.
- Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control policies including aseptic technique and medical documentation standards.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly using appropriate dental terminology; experience working with pediatric patients is desirable.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies at all times.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
