Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage their seating preferences to optimize flow and comfort
- Handle restaurant reservation management efficiently using popular table management systems such Toast POS
- Maintain organized waitlists and communicate wait times clearly via phone and in person
- Answer incoming phone calls with professional phone etiquette, providing information about reservations and wait times
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating and guest flow
- Assist with guest relations by addressing inquiries, resolving concerns promptly, and ensuring a positive experience
- Uphold food safety standards by managing cleanliness of the host station and adhering to hygiene protocols
Skills
- Proven experience as a host/hostess or in food service roles, demonstrating excellent customer service skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to handle phone communication confidently
- Familiarity with restaurant reservation management systems and POS systems such as Toast POS
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple tables, reservations, and guest requests efficiently
- Basic math skills for managing waitlists, bills, and transaction processing
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hospitality best practices to ensure guest well-being
- Ability to remain energetic, positive, and professional in a fast-paced environment while building guest relations
