As a Groundman, you'll work directly with experienced Fiber Linemen to build overhead and underground fiber optic networks. Your job is to keep the crew working safely and efficiently while learning the trade every day.
You'll learn how telecommunications construction is performed from the ground up.
Daily Responsibilities

Drive company trucks to and from jobsites.

Set up work zones and traffic control.

Load, unload, organize, and stock trucks with tools and materials.

Learn the names and uses of common pole hardware, including strand, clamps, bolts, spacers, guy hardware, and aerial construction materials.

Hand tools and materials to the lineman working from the bucket truck or climbing a utility pole.

Help install fiber optic cable, messenger strand, tracer wire, pedestals, and other telecommunications infrastructure.

Assist with hand digging around existing utilities when needed.

Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite.

Follow OSHA and company safety procedures at all times.

1-2 years of experience

Valid driver’s license

The ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including overnight(s)

CDL is a plus but not required.
No telecommunications experience is required. Construction, utility, landscaping, tree work, military, farming, heavy equipment, or commercial driving experience is a plus.
