Duties
- Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring accuracy in debits and credits across the general ledger.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations to verify account balances and identify discrepancies promptly.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing and payment scheduling.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Workday, PeopleSoft, or UltiPro to record transactions and generate reports.
- Perform payroll management tasks using systems like ADP, Paychex, Ceridian, Kronos, or UltiPro, ensuring timely and accurate employee payments.
- Support tax preparation activities by maintaining detailed records of financial transactions and assisting with compliance requirements.
- Assist with internal audits and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance procedures to uphold financial integrity.
- Analyze financial data for budgeting, account analysis, and financial forecasting purposes.
- Reconcile accounts receivable/payable statements and prepare detailed account analysis reports.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all accounting activities in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in corporate accounting or governmental accounting environments with a strong understanding of GAAP standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Workday, PeopleSoft, Ceridian or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of payroll systems including ADP, Paychex or Kronos is highly desirable.
- Strong skills in data entry, double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and account reconciliation.
- Familiarity with SOX compliance procedures and technical accounting concepts.
- Experience with financial services or non-profit accounting is a plus.
- Excellent mathematical skills combined with a keen eye for detail in financial analysis.
- Ability to perform 10-key typing efficiently while maintaining high accuracy levels.
