Larchmont Temple Nursery School is looking for a Head Teacher for our Toddler program (2s) for the 2026-2027 school year. LTNS is a play-based nursery school that draws inspiration from Reggio Emilia and Bank Street College approaches. Teachers plan emergent curriculum based on interests of the children, and curriculum is carried out through project-based learning.
This position requires knowledge and experience in working with toddlers, flexibility, the ability to differentiate for a variety of learning styles and needs, as well as a passion for working with children, colleagues, and families.
Toddler hours are 8:45-12:15 M-F, with the children being in the program 9:15-11:45.
Opportunity to teach Pre-K (4's) 12:00-2:00 for an additional salary.
Minimum Qualification/Requirements:
· Master’s degree in education, working towards a Master's or CDA required
· Experience working with preschool-aged children
· An understanding of the many “languages” of expression used in early childhood classrooms
· Warm and nurturing, with the ability to meet the social-emotional needs of young children
· Strong writing and communication skills
· Demonstrate knowledge of child development and the ability to plan and implement age-appropriate, child-centered curriculum
· Hardworking and eager to work collaboratively with assistant teachers and colleagues
