Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Lead Electrician to oversee electrical projects, ensure safety compliance, and lead a team of electricians on diverse construction and renovation sites. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise electrical teams on construction, renovation, and maintenance projects, ensuring high standards of quality and safety.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics to execute precise electrical installations.
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain low voltage and high voltage electrical systems using hand tools, power tools, and specialized testing equipment such as ohmmeters.
- Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to support automation processes in industrial settings.
- Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes, maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and clients to plan electrical layouts, schedules, and resource allocation.
- Conduct inspections on construction sites to verify proper installation practices, identify potential hazards, and ensure compliance with schematics and blueprints.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including incident reports, inspection logs, and project progress reports.
Skills
- Extensive experience as an industrial electrician with a strong background in commercial electrical systems.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and construction plans.
- Skilled in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers; power tools including drills and saws; testing instruments like ohmmeters.
- Knowledge of low voltage systems (such as security alarms or data cabling) as well as high voltage power distribution.
- Experience working on construction sites with a focus on renovation projects; capable of framing carpentry or handyman tasks is a plus.
- Familiarity with NEC standards for safe electrical installation practices; experience with schematics for complex systems.
- Ability to operate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation tasks in industrial environments.
- Strong understanding of construction safety protocols; ability to lead teams effectively while maintaining a safe work environment.
