Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all supplies are ready for procedures.
- Assist dentists chairside during various treatments including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and implants.
- Take dental X-rays and imaging to assist with diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Manage patient records using Dentrix Ascend to ensure accurate documentation of medical and dental history.
- Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort throughout procedures to ensure safety and well-being.
- Maintain infection control standards by practicing aseptic techniques and adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and applying infection control protocols.
- Familiarity with PMS systems such as Dentrix Ascend, Opendetal or Eaglesoft for managing dental records and documentation.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and accurately.
- Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is advantageous; ongoing training in infection control and aseptic technique is expected.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
