Salary is in the Teacher Salary Schedule on the
SAISD Compensation Plan as applicable with
additional consideration for directly related
experience
Additional annual supplement of $9,000.00 for
Athletic Coordinator duties. Supplemental duties
require additional days beyond the teacher contract
in accordance with Athletics Department
requirements.

Position Summary
To implement and maintain an athletic program that will foster competition, good sportsmanship, and community
pride and to achieve maximum results in all areas of University Interscholastic League (UIL) athletic competition.
Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities
1. Possess and demonstrates qualities of leadership, including the capacity and ability to lead and motivate
others.
2. Possess and demonstrates organizational skills that support an orderly, structured, functional, and
desirable athletic program.
3. Have an understanding and appreciation for the school district’s athletic program and the program at the
campus of possible assignment.
4. Understand policies, rules and regulations set forth by all governing agencies, including, but not limited
to, the policies, rules, and regulations of the Texas Education Association (TEA), UIL, SAISD and
school administration, coaching associations, etc.
5. Be a positive role model on and off the playing field for students and the community, and maintain a
positive and professional relationship with players, coaches, officials, and patrons.
6. Model respect for others by appearance, manners, behavior, language and conduct, both on and off the
playing field.
7. Possess and demonstrate knowledge and expertise in his/her sport (s) and have the ability to teach
students skills and techniques necessary to be successful in the sport (s), in association with good
sportsmanship and the fundamental philosophy of the school district’s Athletic Department
8. Possess and demonstrate a receptive spirit to keep current on coaching techniques and ideas and, where
practicable, implementing them into the athletic program
