Front of House Restaurant Manager
Position Summary:
The Front of House Manager is responsible for overseeing all guest-facing operations of the restaurant to ensure excellent service, smooth daily operations, and a positive dining experience. This role leads the FOH team, maintains service standards, and acts as the primary point of contact between guests and management.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience

Ensure every guest receives prompt, friendly, and professional service

Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a timely and courteous manner

Monitor dining room flow and atmosphere

Build relationships with regular guests to encourage repeat business

Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation in all guest areas
Operations

Oversee daily front-of-house operations including host stand, servers, bartenders, bussers, and runners

Coordinate with kitchen management to ensure efficient communication between FOH and BOH
-
Manage reservations, waitlists, and floor plans
-
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company policies
-
Monitor service timing and quality during all shifts
Staff Leadership

Hire, train, schedule, and supervise FOH staff

Conduct pre-shift meetings and ongoing staff coaching
-
Enforce company policies and service standards
-
Handle performance evaluations and disciplinary actions when necessary

Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment
Administrative Duties

Create and manage staff schedules

Control labor costs and maintain timecard accuracy

Assist with inventory, ordering, and vendor communication

Prepare daily reports and track sales performance

Ensure proper cash handling and closing procedures
Qualifications

Minimum 2-3 years restaurant management experience
-
Strong leadership and communication skills
-
Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge of POS systems and restaurant software

Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays

Food handler and alcohol certification (as required)
