Job Summary
Hill Construction LLC, is a custom home builder located in Hayward, WI. Hayward offers a balanced Northwoods lifestyle, and our growing custom home–building general contracting company offers the opportunity to lead all financial operations in a fast-paced, project-driven environment. As our Accountant, you’ll oversee construction-focused functions such as job costing, WIP reporting and billing, AP/AR, and financial reporting—an ideal role for someone with strong construction accounting experience who is ready to make a meaningful impact.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, and general ledger
- Maintain accurate job costing and project financial reporting
- Prepare monthly financial statements and WIP schedules
- Process AIA billings, progress draws, retainage, and change orders
- Monitor project budgets and profitability
- Support project managers with cost tracking and reporting
- Ensure subcontractor compliance documentation is current
- Coordinate year-end audits and tax preparation
- Improve accounting systems and internal processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Construction or general contractor accounting experience desired
- Strong knowledge of:
- Job costing
- WIP schedules
- AIA billing
- Retainage
- Construction contracts
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Procore, or NetSuite
- Strong Excel and organizational skills
Preferred
- QuickBooks experience - Required
- Experience with residential new construction - Required
- Supervisory experience

- Full-time
- Monday to Friday
Work Location
- In person - This position is an onsite position located in Hayward, WI.
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
