Structural Materials Inc. is looking for a Construction Estimator to join our Fargo team. In this role you will prepare accurate cost estimates and material take-offs for construction projects, with a primary focus in masonry and concrete. We value on-the-job growth and will invest in the right candidate, but a working knowledge of construction and project management is essential.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review construction plans and specifications to produce detailed material take-offs and cost estimates.
- Coordinate with project managers to verify scope and ensure estimate accuracy.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, revisions, and project documentation.
- Stay current on material pricing and market conditions to keep estimates competitive.
- Support the team as needed with counter sales, phones, and general office coverage.
- Other tasks as assigned by management.
Job Requirements:
- Working knowledge of construction materials, methods, and project management.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
- Proficiency with cost estimating software and tools.
- Strong math, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication; comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred/equivalent field experience welcomed.
