Position Summary
The Emerging Educator (EE) role gives Instructional Assistants the opportunity to learn and grow as an aspiring teacher
under the tutelage of an experienced, highly effective teacher.
Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities
1. Develop teaching knowledge and skills through observation and dialogue with an experienced
teacher.
2. Improve student achievement through the application of effective classroom practices and
research-based instructional strategies.
3. Assist with the implementation of the district curriculum and the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).
4. Assist with the analysis of formative and summative data to develop targeted instruction based on students’
individual needs.
5. Perform other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected
for this position.
