POSITION: School Nurse - Registered Nurse
LOCATION: Various
REPORTS TO: Principal and Coordinator of Health Services
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: Responsible for providing general health care services to students
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Graduate of an accredited school for registered nurses, BSN preferred.
- Successful experience as a school nurse preferred.
- Experience with nursing procedures (tracheotomy, G-tube feeding, catheterization, diabetic care, etc.) highly preferred.
- Knowledgeable of school health procedures including state and federal mandates.
- Desire and demonstrated ability to work with school-aged children.
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Current and valid State of Connecticut Registered Nurse license
- Current and valid CPR certification
SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary in accordance with Hartford Federation of School Health Professionals (2018-2025) - Appendix A, Salary Schedule 5A: ($47,593-$73,042). 10-month work year.
