Teacher Assistant – 3-Year-Old Classroom (Morning Position)
Learn, Play, and Grow Preschool is looking for a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Teacher Assistant to join our 3-year-old classroom for morning hours, Monday through Friday.
The Teacher Assistant will work closely with the Lead Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment for young children. The ideal candidate is patient, responsible, energetic, and enjoys working with preschool-aged children.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Teacher with daily classroom activities and curriculum.
- Help prepare the classroom and materials for daily activities.
- Provide positive guidance and encouragement to children.
- Supervise children closely and ensure their safety at all times.
- Help children develop social skills, independence, confidence, and self-esteem.
- Assist children with bathroom needs and accidents when necessary.
- Help with handwashing, mealtimes, cleanup, and daily routines.
- Comfort and support children when needed.
- Assist with cleaning and sanitizing classroom, play, and activity areas.
- Help maintain an organized, safe, and welcoming classroom.
- Assist with daily sheets and communication regarding children's daily needs.
- Work cooperatively with the Lead Teacher and other staff members.
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with children, parents, and staff.
- Follow all preschool policies, procedures, and health and safety requirements.
- Attend required staff meetings, training, orientations, and CPR/First Aid training.
- Maintain a professional, neat, and appropriate appearance.
- Be punctual, dependable, flexible, and willing to work as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with preschool-aged children is preferred.
- Must enjoy working with young children and demonstrate patience and kindness.
- Must be dependable, responsible, and punctual.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Must be able to work well with a Lead Teacher and as part of a team.
- Must be physically able to lift approximately 30–40 pounds when necessary.
- Must meet applicable California licensing requirements for preschool staff.
Schedule
Monday–Friday | Morning Hours
This is a part-time morning position in our 3-year-old classroom.
